Specialist Cameron Anthony Logwood was one of the world’s brightest stars. He was born April 27, 1998, in Columbus, OH. Cameron was stationed at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, as a member of the 1st Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment in the U.S Army where he was an aircraft fuel handler. He loved his Artic Attack family. During his enlistment, he was deployed to South Korea for nine months. He had recently re-enlisted to serve three more years prior to his death. We lost Cameron at the very young age of 21, as he was traveling to an intramural basketball tournament representing Ft. Wainwright’s Army team, preparing to do what he loved most.

From a very young age, Cameron wanted to play basketball more than anything in the world. He kept a basketball with him everywhere he went, including when he slept. He has numerous awards and accolades for basketball from middle school through high school, including MVP of his entire conference, but that wasn’t what made Cameron so special. If you had the pleasure of knowing Cameron, you knew he had the ability to light up an entire room with one of his smiles, jokes, and dances. He never knew a stranger and was willing to give up anything to see someone else better off. His silliness and genuine kindness are remembered by all he is survived by. His infectious spirit, ability to make someone’s day and find humor in every situation is what his family prays will all carry with them when remembering Cameron. He was one of a kind and the world was a much better place with him in it.

His mother Dawn, started a pay it forward campaign in Cameron’s honor called #CamsLegacy. Many are involved by just paying forward a blessing to someone else, as this was one of Cameron’s favorite things to do. It is a way to keep his bright light moving forward in his physical absence.
