PFC Devin James Grella was born in Medina, Ohio on July 20, 1983, to Dennis and Donna Grella. He had three brothers, Dustin, Darrin and Drew.

Devin’s interests included all sports, music, playing video games and more. He was an Eagle Scout and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He graduated from Medina High in 2002 and joined the Army in December of 2003.

Devin was sent to Iraq in June of 2004. He was killed when his fuel truck was hit by an IED on September 6, 2004, while on convoy in Al Qayyarah Province, Iraq. He was 21 years of age. Devin was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Army Medal of Commendation.
