PVT Kenneth E. New, 24 years old, was killed in action in France on Nov. 11, 1944. He left behind his wife, Josephine, and his three children - Charles, Carl, and a baby Jerry Ray who was born shortly after he left for overseas.

PVT New entered the Army in March 1944 and was employed by a Kansas City dairy company. He had been overseas for only two months before being killed in action.

Following his death, his widow Mrs. Josephine New was presented with the Mate’s Posthumous Award and the Purple Heart.
