Lance Cpl. Stacey “Annie” Dryden, was assigned to 1st Supply Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, California. She died in Al Asad of injuries sustained in a non-hostile incident. Dryden was a 2004 graduate of Glenoak High School in Canton, Ohio. While in high school, she was a member of the choir and on the cheerleading squad.

After graduation, she worked a few jobs but felt she needed something more challenging. In March 2007, she joined the Marines and had been in Iraq only two months as a packing and packaging specialist. Her fellow Marines named her the “fiery angel” because she came off as sweet and innocent, but she was tough as nails. But the other side of her was strong, always there if you needed her, and blessed with a positive attitude and compassion.
