LCpl Taylor B. Prazynski
Taylor was born November 12th, 1984, at the medical center at Hill Air Force Base Utah.
Taylor lived at Hill AFB Utah from birth to July 1985 when he moved to Chanute Air Force Base Illinois and lived there from July 1985 to Jan 1989. Taylor moved to Fairfield Ohio Jan 1989 where is Mother Claudia and Father John were from. Taylor Went to Fairfield Central Elementary School, Fairfield Middle School, and Fairfield Sr High. Sometime during his high school years one of his teachers asked him to help in the special needs’ classroom. Taylor enjoyed the opportunity to work with the kids and teachers. He enjoyed learning about the differences we each have, and how together we can all make each other’s lives better through kindness and love. On September 11th, 2001, Taylor, as a sophomore in high school, watched, with the rest of the world, the horrors of the twin towers falling to the worst terrorist attack in America’s history. As a junior in high school, the following year, Taylor told his family he was going to join the Marines after he graduated. He wanted to go live a 4-year adventure, and then come back home to go to college. Taylor graduated from Fairfield Sr High in spring 2003 and joined the Marines. He left for Parris Island SC in Oct 2003 for Marine Corps Boot Camp. Taylor graduated from Marine Corps boot camp in January 2004, and went to Camp Geiger NC for the Marine Corps School of Infantry. Taylor graduated the school of Infantry in March of 2004. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 8th Marine Regiment, Lima Company, 4th Platoon, at Camp Lejeune NC. His 1st deployment was to Port-au-Prince Haiti during Operation Secure Tomorrow. Taylor returned to the United States in Nov 2004 to prepare for what was next with the 3rd Bat/8th Marine Reg. In January 2005 Taylor deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq, for Operation Iraqi Freedom. In May 2005 Taylor’s unit was in support of Operation Matador (aka Battle of Al-Qa’im), and was killed May 9th, 2005, during a mortar attack on his operational position in the town of Al-Karmah, in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. Taylor is buried in Arlington National Cemetery Section 60 site 8111. He was loved by many and is missed by all.
